Hyun-Hwan Jeong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas. He leads the Jeong Lab, which develops computational, statistical, and AI-driven approaches to understand and diagnose human disease — spanning CRISPR screen analysis, transposable element quantification, multi-omics integration, electronic health record (EHR) analytics, and rare disease gene prioritization.
Dr. Jeong holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Ajou University (2015) and conducted postdoctoral research at BCM under Drs. Zhandong Liu and Huda Y. Zoghbi. Before returning to BCM as faculty in 2024, he was a Senior Scientist at Precede Biosciences and a Research Assistant Professor at UTHealth.
Join the Lab
We are looking for motivated undergraduate students based in Texas who are interested in computational biology, AI, and genomics research. If you'd like to work with the Jeong Lab, please send your CV/resume to hyun-hwan.jeong@bcm.edu.
